Details on Covid in the home - from October
On September 27th my husband developed a mild, persistent sore throat.
On October 7th we started distancing in our home. (We have a 3 level split - he lived in the basement, and I lived on our upstairs level. each of us with our own bedroom and bathroom. Between is the main level with the kitchen, where he did not touch anything unless he had first both washed and sanitized his hands.)
Evan got a test on October 8th that came back negative.
He developed new symptoms October 10th (3 days after we began distancing) and took another test on the 13th, which came back positive.
The CDC guidelines suggest quarantining if you have had "close contact" with someone known to be infected.
Based on all of this, I felt it was the right thing to do to offer you the option to reschedule during the month of October.
The below was pulled directly from the CDC website. (10.13.20)
"What counts as close contact?
-
You were within 6 feet of someone who has COVID-19 for a total of 15 minutes or more
-
You provided care at home to someone who is sick with COVID-19
-
You had direct physical contact with the person (hugged or kissed them)
-
You shared eating or drinking utensils
-
They sneezed, coughed, or somehow got respiratory droplets on you"
Per these guidelines, I never had "close contact" with my husband during the time he was contagious (as early as October 8th), however we did share the ventilation system of the house.
I had no symptoms throughout and received a negative test result at the end of my husband's quarantine.
As always I expect you to mask up for visits, and I will continue to mask up as well.
See the calendar below for a visual explanation! All questions are welcome.
